1000 SERIES EPILITE INK
Properties
Excellent adhesion. Thick ink film. Chemical resistance.
Metal, Glass, Pre-treated polyolefines.
INTRODUCTIONS
1000 SERIES EPILITE INK is two-component epoxy resin ink. 1000 SERIES shows excellent adhesion to the substrates to which other ink cannot adhere.
APPLICATIONS
Unprimed metal, primed metal, glass, ceramics,thermo-setting resin, molded matters of treated polypropyrene.
CHARACTERISTICS
– High gloss, superb adhesion.
– High density and thick coating.
– Excellent opacity.
– Good resistance to oil, gasoline, alcohol and chemicals.
HOW TO USE
1. Add hardener of 20-30 parts to ink of 100 parts.
2. Add small quantity of EPILITE THINNER to the mixture. Stir well before print.
3. Be sure to use up the mixture within pot life.
MIXING RATIO OF HARDENER
– More addition of hardener results in better flexibility.
– Less addition of hardener results in hard surface and good resistance to scratch and chemicals.
POT LIFE
Ink and hardener react, which makes the mixture viscous in course of time. The mixture finally becomes solid. The pot life(=how long the mixture can be used) is normally 5-6 hours at 20°C(68°F). The pot life shortens to 2-3 hours when the temperature is 30°C(86°F).
DRYING
Temperature | Tack free | Cured | Completely cured |
---|---|---|---|
20 | 2hours | 24hours | 5`10days |
80 | 10minutes | 20minutes | 60minutes |
100 | 5minutes | 10minutes | 30minutes |
120 | 3minutes | 6minutes | 15minutes |
STENCIL & WASHING UP
Use photo-stencil. Use EPILITE CLEANING THINNER for washing up.
COLORS & TYPE OF PACKING
Standard 13 colors. FC CLEAR(special-made). 1kg can.
PRECAUTIONS
1. Better properties are obtained by heat cure than by cure at room temperature.
2. CLEAR and WHITE slightly yellow by cured at >120°C(248°F).
3. Add JA-1000 by 1-2% when the product is printed on glass or metal. Adhesion and properties are much improved by adding JA-1000.
4. Additive is effected by humidity. Deteriorated additive cannot be used. Seal the container of additive after use and use it up as soon as possible.
5. The lightfastness of EPILITE INK is not so good. Chalking occurs after outdoor exposure of a few months. Use APG INK or 2500 SERIES MIG-N(SD) INK which have better lightfastness.
6. 1000 SERIES EPILITE INK is high-viscous and high-thixotropic to reproduce the patterns precisely. FC CLEAR(special-made) is available to obtain better levelling and better transparency. Please use FC HARDENER for FC CLEAR. FC HARDENER can be used for other colors as lower viscosity version of hardener.
7. Please refer to MSDS before use.
8. Be sure to do trial print before commercial run to confirm that the product fits the purposes.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
1001 WHITE is printed on aluminum plate and cured at 100°C(212°F) for 30 minutes.
Ink : hardener = 100 : 20
